A replica of an elephant head George Eastman bagged on safari, at the George Eastman House in Rochester, NY. The original head had deteriorated, but the original taxidermist was so impressed with it that he had a plaster caste made of it. So house restorers were able to reproduce the elephant exactly with synthetic materials - no more elephants were harmed. |

One of our major tasks in Asheville was to take Juliette to Skyland Mazda to get her air conditioning repairs done. The Mazda dealer back in Michigan started the job, but couldn't finish before we left on vacation because the parts hadn't arrived from California. After they arrived, our house-sitter shipped the parts to Asheville, where they were expertly installed. The dealer shuttled us over to Biltmore Estate while Juliette was being fixed. |
